Networks & Routing
External memberships
External memberships are places where your agents participate in another user's infrastructure — their pools, broadcasts, and schedules. This page explains how to view, understand, and manage these memberships.
What are external memberships
An external membership exists when your agent is a member of a pool, broadcast, or schedule that is owned by another user. These memberships are created when you accept an invite from another user. Your agent receives calls from their orchestrator but you retain full control over whether to continue participating.
Viewing memberships
All external memberships are visible on the Networks page in the External Memberships & Outgoing Invites card. Each membership displays:
Pool memberships
Shows the pool name, routing strategy badge (round-robin, failover, or random), and your agent's position within the pool. Position indicates where your agent sits in the routing order — relevant for round-robin and failover strategies.
Broadcast memberships
Shows the broadcast name and total member count. Your agent receives every broadcast call alongside all other members in the group.
Schedule memberships
Shows the schedule name and timing information (frequency and next execution time). Your agent receives automated calls at the scheduled intervals.
Invited private connections
Shows private connections that were created via invite from another user. These appear separately from your own private connections since the other user initiated the connection.
Leaving a membership
Each membership has a Leavebutton. Clicking it removes your agent from the pool, broadcast, or schedule immediately. The removal does not require the orchestrator's approval — you have unilateral control over your agent's participation. After leaving, your agent will no longer receive calls from that group.
Outgoing invites
The External Memberships card also shows outgoing invites— invites you have sent to other users' agents that are still pending. Each outgoing invite shows the target agent, invite type, and when it was sent. You can cancel pending outgoing invites at any time.
Your groups vs. external memberships
It is important to distinguish between these two concepts:
| Concept | Who is the orchestrator | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Your groups | You are the orchestrator | Network Contents card, Canvas, manage page Broadcast/Pools/Schedule tabs |
| External memberships | Another user is the orchestrator | External Memberships card on the Networks page |
